Buy Your Entrance Pass Online

Digital passes are now available. The National Park Service has introduced a new digital pass system through Recreation.gov. Visitors can now purchase their park passes online in advance, making entry faster and reducing wait times at entrance stations. We encourage guests to pre-purchase their passes before visiting to enjoy a smoother arrival experience.

What You Can expect When Visiting Yosemite in 2026:

We encourage visitors to plan thoughtfully to make the most of their Yosemite experience.

Know before You Go

Before entering Yosemite National Park, take a few moments to plan your route and confirm your lodging or activity details. Having a clear plan helps reduce congestion, improves traffic flow, and supports a cleaner, healthier environment by minimizing unnecessary driving. A little preparation goes a long way toward creating a smoother, more enjoyable park experience for everyone.

If you are visiting during the busier summer months, consider visiting midweek and explore areas beyond Yosemite Valley. Destinations like Tuolumne Meadows, Wawona, Mariposa Grove, and Hetch Hetchy offer incredible scenery, unique experiences, and a chance to see different parts of the park. Plan to enter early before 8am and leave late after enjoying the sunset. Once parked, take advantage of the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle to get around.

Have some flexibility with your travel dates? We encourage travelers to visit Yosemite Mariposa County during shoulder seasons such as spring, fall, or winter. Traveling during these seasons can save money, provide easier parking, offer milder temperatures, and create a quieter park experience.

As always, we ask visitors to practice Leave No Trace principles and follow Nature Rules to help preserve this beautiful place for all people, for all time.

Transportation Alternatives

Consider using the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) from gateway communities to simplify travel and parking. YARTS stops at many lodging locations and allows you to focus on enjoying your visit. Once in the park, take advantage of the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle to get around, or explore the valley by bike for a fun and eco-friendly experience.
