Dog Lake Hike

Distance: 2.8 miles (4.5 km) round trip

Elevation gain: 750 feet (225 meters)

Difficulty: Moderate

Time: 1.5 – 3 hours

Begin at: From Yosemite’s east entrance at Tioga Pass, take the Tioga Road west 7 miles (11 km) to the trailhead

Dog Lake is a fairly easy (a little steep at the beginning) trail that is perfect for most hikers in Tuolumne Meadows who want to ease into elevation and see a perfectly lovely lake. A popular trail in the summer time for families with small kids. Be sure to bring your mosquito repellent as they can be quite active around the lake.
