Location
Yosemite Creek Campground is in the northern area of Yosemite National Park along Tioga Road (Highway 120 east of Crane Flat), about one hour north of Yosemite Valley, at 7,700 feet (2,300 m) elevation. The road to get to the campground is narrow, winding, and rough so RVs and trailers are not recommended.
Season
All campsites: approximately July through early September (view this year’s estimated opening and closing dates at the site above)
Campsite Details
Tent sites: 75 (RVs and trailers are not recommended)
Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and bear-proof food storage locker, and is near a vault toilet. Many sites are close to Yosemite Creek. This is the only source of water, and it must be treated (by boiling, using a filter, or using iodine). No potable water is available. The group sites have six food lockers.
Services
This is a limited development campground with few nearby services outside of food storage lockers and trash and recycling collection.
Accessibility
Sites 47 and 49 are suitable for wheelchairs and include picnic tables with extended tops. The closest restrooms to these campsites are also wheelchair accessible. These campsites are limited to people with disabilities.
Regulations
Pets: Permitted (except in group and horse sites; must be on a leash at all times)
Fires: Wood and charcoal fires are permitted.
People per site: A maximum of six people (including children) are allowed per campsite, except for the group site, which requires 13 to 30 people. There is no limit on the number of tents (as long as they all fit into the campsite).
Additional campground regulations apply, as well.
You are required to store food properly in order to protect Yosemite’s bears. Learn more about bears, proper food storage, and food lockers.
