Trail Stewardship
March 22

To many, a trailhead is just a place to park and start a hike, but for Mariposa Trails it is the place where a relationship between the user and nature begins. Voluntourism is one way a visitor can enter this relationship of reciprocity. Through a mix of vacation travel, volunteering and stewardship, tourists explore new destinations and give back to the communities they visit. Mariposa Trails has crafted voluntourism adventures whereby travelers to Yosemite National Park can also opt to be “trail stewards” of nearby hiking trails, creating a meaningful way to give back while visiting the Sierras and Yosemite National Park.
