| The Hites Cove Trail begins off Highway 140, just minutes from hotels in the Merced River Canyon. Spectacular views of the Wild and Scenic South Fork of the Merced River can be seen as the trail meanders alongside and above the river. In springtime, wildflowers blanket the slopes and crowd the trail. While the trailhead is easy to get to and the trail is easy to hike, some may find it uncomfortable due to the steep terrain which the trail traverses. The trail stewardship activities are all within 3 miles of the trailhead. |
