The Explorer Cabins are located just outside the South Gate Entrance into Yosemite National Park. Experience all the mountains have to offer from the privacy of your own modern, two-bedroom cabin. Come together with your family and other guests at the 1,800-square-foot Explorer Lounge with the added bonus of communal fire pits. Nestled among a fishing pond and creek, you’ll feel like you’re miles from civilization.
Plus, the high-end amenities of Tenaya Lodge are yours as well. You have it all – a rustic, shared outdoors experience, along with the luxurious offerings offered at the resort.
All cabins have 650 square feet (60m2) to spread out in, with two bedrooms, a living room equipped with a welcoming sofa, refrigerator, microwave and inviting porch to relax on. There are a few differences between the Family cabins and ADA cabins that are offered, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

Our Premium Cabins offer a truly immersive Yosemite-Sierra experience. Enjoy the rushing Big Creek, mountain pond or alpine meadow from your master bedroom porch. Like the Deluxe Cabins, the Premium Cabins feature one king-size bed and one queen-size bed with a large shower. Premium Cabins have the same layout as Deluxe Cabins but are located in some of our best locations.

Offering the comforts of home, nestled beneath Incense Cedar and Sugar Pine trees, Tenaya’s Deluxe Cabins are sure to offer a one-of-a-kind mountain escape. The Deluxe Cabins have the same layout and amenities as the Premium Cabins but are toward the interior of the grounds.

Bunk beds in the Explorer Cabins, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite
Our Family Cabins are unique to the resort property, offering a bunk bed in the second bedroom! With a full bed on bottom and a twin on top – this room is perfect for guests of all ages. The floorplan is the same as the Premium Cabins, but with a shower tub in the bathroom instead of the shower-only arrangement in the Premium and Deluxe Cabins.

Tenaya Lodge knows that people of all abilities have the urge to explore. The ADA-compliant version of the Explorer Cabins is the same as Deluxe or Premium Cabin, but with widened doorways, a larger bathroom, grab bars where needed and all the other features listed but made accessible for all explorers!

Located just outside Yosemite National Park’s southern entrance, the Explorer Cabins are an excellent base camp for visiting the newly renovated Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. These enormous trees are some of the world’s largest and oldest living organisms!
