Yosemite Music Festival

yosemite music festival
07/07/2017 - 07/08/2017
All Day

Join us for the annual Yosemite Music Festival, a beloved Sierra foothills tradition presented by the Carter Ranch since 2002. Originally held on the grounds of the Carter Ranch, the event has changed its venue, but not its soul. Now in its fourth year on the shady lawns of the Mariposa County Fairgrounds in historic Mariposa, CA, the festival promises the same kick back, family-friendly musical experience as it did back on the ranch.

The Yosemite Music Festival is known for offering an eclectic and engaging mix of quality sounds in a tranquil setting. The performers will include both new and returning favorites pumping out music of all types. Headliners will include Gene Evaro Jr., a rock/blues/soul group, and three other SoCal bands playing a mix of rock, psych jazz and country. Musician Jimmy Pailer and the band Strange Angels Blues Band will rock the blues. Tom Rigney and Flambeau will bring Louisiana Cajun sounds to the foothills. Returning to the stage will be fan favorites Willie Tea Taylor, Andy Roberts and local boy Adam Burns. Visit for an updated lineup of bands.

Ticket prices range from $25/day to $40 for a weekend pass. Early bird and youth rates are available; children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased on the website, on Facebook at or at the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce.

Festival goers can purchase beverages, beer, crafts and affordable food on site or bring their own spread. The Fairgrounds will again offer the bonus of free tent camping or an RV space for a reduced rate of $40 for the weekend. Visit the website for reservation details. Gates are open 1:00 p.m. to midnight on Friday, July 7th and 11:00 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 8th. Music lovers can round out the weekend with an easy side trip to celebrated Yosemite National Park.

The Yosemite Music Festival has a storied history. It originated as a grassroots collaboration of local musicians who wanted to share quality live music with their community. It has grown into a much-anticipated regional event operating as a nonprofit under the auspices of Mariposa KRYZ radio and driven by volunteer labor and funding. For more information, visit
