Yosemite Facelift is a volunteer event hosted annually by the Yosemite Climbing Association to clean up litter in Yosemite National Park. YCA provides bags and litter grabbers to all volunteers to safely pick up trash. At the 2019 event in Yosemite, 16,249 pounds of trash were collected.
Evening events take place each night in Yosemite Valley which usually includes speaker events from some of the world’s leading rock climbers. Past speakers include Tommy Caldwell, Alex Honnold and Kevin Jorgeson (Note: 2022’s evening event schedule is being finalized). For volunteers that pre-register by September 13, 2022, Yosemite Peak Hours Vehicle Reservations will be provided. Anyone that misses the deadline will have to secure their own reservation.
This year, Facelift is also hosting a number of “Act Local” events across the U.S. For info on those remote events, click here.
Step 1: If you are participating in Yosemite, you must pre-register. Pre-registration for Yosemite participation ends on September 13th for gate passes. You may still pre-register if you are “Acting Local” or have other entry into the park.
Adult Pre-registration form: (https://forms.gle/1wwP3EgGBqNwMp93A)
Kids Pre-registration form: (https://forms.gle/XTHSoAj66jVLjtnw9)
By pre-registering, you will be eligible for giveaways if you are participating remotely and your name will be at the gate for entrance into Yosemite for Yosemite participation.
Step 2: Participate!
If you are participating in person in Yosemite, your name will be at the park entry gate if you pre-registered before September 13th. You must still show up at the mall near the Valley Visitor Center and check-in. Put your name on a ticket for giveaway drawings, buy a shirt, talk to an archeologist about artifacts.
