The Mariposa Symphony Orchestra Festive Holiday Concert

The Mariposa Symphony Orchestra Festive Holiday Concert
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join the Mariposa Symphony Orchestra and the Mariposa County Arts Council on Dec. 21 and 7 p.m. for a Festive Holiday Concert that is sure to have you in the holiday spirit!

This Festive Holiday Concert will feature two major works: Both suites from Georges Bizet’s “L’Arlesienne” incidental music – including the beloved holiday favorite “Farandole” and the extended suite from one of the most imaginative, unique – and frankly hilarious operas by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: “Christmas Eve,” based upon the story by Gogol.  That story tells of the events that transpire on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in a small town in Russia…with characters including the Blacksmith Vakula, the incredibly beautiful (and vain) Oksana, Catherine the Great, a witch and: the devil himself!   Plus, of course: “Sierra Christmas Party” – the piece that’s closed every December Mariposa Symphony Orchestra concert since our very first one, ALSO on December 21st – way back in 2002.
