Answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions

Can I hold a meeting inside Yosemite National Park?

Yes. There are limitations, however. The National Park Service does restrict group room contracts during the park’s peak season to allow more leisure travel access. Meetings and events planned between April and September should consider one of the dozen or more business meeting venues located just outside the National Park boundaries.

Is getting to Yosemite Mariposa County difficult?

No, it is centrally located in the state of California. It’s a 3-to-4-hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area, 4 to 5 hours from Los Angeles, and 3 hours from Sacramento. Planning to fly in? Fresno Yosemite International Airport is less than two hours from the southern gate to Yosemite National Park and it’s quick and easy to fly in and out of, with direct flights arriving from multiple cities in the United States.

How is the Cuisine?

Amazing! The Yosemite region attracts professionally trained culinary professionals from all regions of the world. Our easy access to California’s rich bounty of produce and food purveyors, wineries, and breweries make anything possible for your group!

How do you choose a meeting venue?

Choosing a business meeting venue in Yosemite Mariposa is easy since there is such a wide variety of venues and corporate meeting locations to choose from, depending on your needs. A few things to keep in mind while choosing are the number of guests, the square feet of the venue you’d like, the proximity of your chosen accommodations, the types of foods you’d like available, and the activities nearby.

Are there venues for large and small groups?

Of course. There are meeting rooms, suites, board rooms, office space, and outdoor venues for meetings from just a few people to 10,000 square foot ballrooms that can accommodate up to 800 guests.

Are there nice places to hold a meeting in a National Park setting?

Yes! The challenge for a meeting planner with so many choices is deciding on the perfect location that captures the vibe you want to create for your attendees. We’re happy to help find the perfect location to host events for you.

Are Yosemite meetings more expensive?

Not necessarily. The best time for a meeting in Yosemite Mariposa County is between October through April. You might find that meetings planned in July or August during the Park’s peak season would be higher than destinations with lower summer demand. For the most part, lodging & tax, food & beverage, audio-visual services, and activities costs are lower than most destinations. There really are choices for every budget.

How is the service level for groups?

Excellent! You’ll find seasoned conference planning professions and leadership at each of these special event venues. Our region has very little staff turnover, unlike most urban locations that see 100% staff turnover annually. From year to year, meeting planners are greeted by name by the same friendly engaged faces from the front desk, meal serving to conference service staff.

Is there cell service and Wi-Fi?

Yes! The vast majority of the properties and corporate event venues here have strong Wi-Fi that will help make connecting with the office and those at home quick and simple. Cell service can be spotty, but most places, including Yosemite Valley, have at least a 3G connection.
