There are four entrances to Yosemite National Park: the south entrance on Highway 41 north from Fresno, the Arch Rock entrance on Highway 140 west from Merced & Mariposa, the Big Oak Flat entrance on Highway 120 west from Modesto and Manteca through Tuolumne County and the Tioga Pass entrance on Highway 120 east from Lee Vining and Highway 395, in Mono County. The Tioga Pass entrance is closed from the first major snowstorm in November until approximately early June due to snow. The roads entering the park on its west side are kept open all year, but may require tire chains because of snow anytime between November and April

BUS SERVICE

Visitors can ride Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) buses from gateway communities in Mariposa, Merced & Mono Counties into Yosemite Valley. YARTS buses also connect with Amtrak and Greyhound service in Merced & Scenic Airlines at Merced Municipal Airport.

Inyo Mono Transit - Inyo Mono Transit offers affordable transportation throughout Inyo and Mono Counties. IMT operates door-to-door bus service in the communities of Bishop, Mammoth, Lone Pine, and Walker, as well as operating the Eastern Sierra’s only interregional routes between Reno and Ridgecrest . IMT offers twice-daily service between Lone Pine and Bishop. Two round trips daily between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes.

There is also shuttle bus service within the park - Yosemite Valley Shuttle Bus

TRAIN SERVICE
Amtrak provides a combination of train and bus service to Yosemite Valley.
